First Arbitration Hearings Tentatively Set for February

All bargaining unit contracts expire on June 30, 2017
 
HGEA Units 3 and 4 will be the first to enter into arbitration hearings tentatively scheduled for mid-February. Also tentatively, arbitration for Units 2, 6, 8 and 9 are expected to follow, and then Units 13 and 14.
 
All bargaining units have filed for impasse after negotiations stalled with the employer's offer of zero salary increases for two years beginning July 1, 2017.
 
A story in Sunday's Honolulu Star-Advertiser (excerpt below) describes the governor's position on raises for public workers. HGEA rejects the state's position and will continue to fight for fair salary increases for our members.
 
No money left for pay raises, unions warned
